Walpole, MA - Walpole Express forward Hunter Saunders has committed to Missouri State for the fall of 2016. The 6’0”, 185 lb. winger from Nashville is a hard-nosed power forward who should find great success with the ACAH Div. 1 Ice Bears.
“Hunter came to us in the middle of last season and has grown tremendously as a player," said Express Head Coach Jon Lounsbury. "Hard work and dedication to the game allowed Hunter to put himself in a position to play competitive college hockey. Hunter will be missed here in Walpole as he always led by example both on and off the ice."
“If it wasn't for Coach Lounsbury and the entire Walpole Express organization, I wouldn't be the man or player I am today heading into my freshman year," Saunders said. "Coach Lounsbury took a chance on me last winter by bringing me in from out west and I'm forever grateful for the opportunity. I also want to thank all of my family, friends and previous coaches who believed in me and helped me through the years. My mother and sisters are my biggest supporters so I'm excited for them to follow me on my journey to college hockey. I am going to miss suiting up in a Walpole uniform but I'm excited to headed to Missouri State."
“Everyone within the Express organization wishes Hunter and his family best of luck moving forward,” Lounsbury said.
