Walpole, MA - Walpole Express forward Frankie Cefalu has committed to the University of New Hampshire (UNH) for the fall of 2015. The 5’11”, 175 lb. center from Buffalo, NY is an elite playmaker and a constant offensive threat every time he steps on the ice. He will be a welcome addition to the Division 1 UNH Wildcats, which play in ultra-competitive Hockey East.
“Frankie came to us last year via the Nichols School in Buffalo, NY and was a hidden gem,” explained Express Head Coach Jon Lounsbury. “While he had a great first year, he was missing a piece of the hockey puzzle -- that part of his game that would propel him to the next level. Fortunately, he found that missing piece this season and has been a constant threat to opposing teams. He is a young man with a ton of heart, determination and a hockey IQ like I’ve never seen before. I’m incredibly proud and excited that he accomplished his dream of playing Division 1 hockey at UNH.”
“I want to thank all my coaches, past and present, as well as my teammates for all the help and support over the years,” Cefalu said. “I want to especially thank my family for all the time and money spent to make my dream become a reality. I’m extremely excited to be a Wildcat and to be able to take the next step in my journey.”
“Everyone within the Express organization wishes Frankie and his family best of luck moving forward,” Lounsbury said.
