Walpole, MA - Walpole Express defenseman Blake Walderson has committed to Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minn. for the fall of 2015. The 6’2”, 190 lb. blueliner from Scottsdale, Arizona is a poised skater and a positionally sound hockey player who is expected to bring significant offense and grit to the Auggies back end.
Ausburg College is an NCAA Division III school currently playing out of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). They currently hold an overall record of 6-6 on the season, and are in fourth place in the MIAC.
“Blake was a big pick up for us down the stretch last season,” said Express Coach Jon Lounsbury. “This season he has come back more experienced and is a more complete player who plays with a lot of toughness and skill, traits that will allow him to have a great college hockey career. Everyone within the Express organization wishes Blake and his family best of luck at Ausburg.”
“I'm excited to be heading to Augsburg in the fall,” Walderson said. “I would like to thank my family, and the coaching staff at the Walpole Express for helping me accomplish my dream of playing college hockey. I’m looking forward to this new challenge.”
