Walpole, MA  - The Express EHL team came away with six points and moved to the top of the Boston Division after a big weekend.

With three games in a span of four days the Express were able to play top notch hockey and knock off the #3 Philadelphia Little Flyers, #5 ranked East Coast Wizards, and a feisty Philadelphia Jr Flyers team to finish off the weekend. Thursday's game against the Wizards took overtime and a Bryan Colburn (Cumberland, RI) snipe to take home the two points against a very tough and hard working Wizards club. On that night goals game from Tyler Pietryzk (Taunton, MA), Eric Wright (San Diego, CA), and Larry Niland (Lido Beach, NY) with stellar goaltending from Austin Smith (Oakland Park, IL).

On Saturday the Express fought hard against a high powered Little Flyers club. In a spirited affair with a lot of penalties, the Express were able to come back from a 3-1 deficit to grab a 4-3 victory. Chris Peters' (Rochester, NY) late breakaway goal would be enough to bury the Little Flyers and help the Express take another two points. Goals came from Charlie Page (Winthrop, MA), Will Ahearn (Charlestown, MA), Chris Gratton (Pottstown, PA), and Peters. Max Flynn secured the win in net with a 33 save performance.

On Sunday the Express came out on fire and were able to put away the Junior Flyers by a score of 5-0.  Austin Smith earned the shutout stopping all 25 shots faced. Goals would come from five different goal scorers on that day; Chris Peters (Rochester, NY), Charlie Page (Winthrop, MA), Will Ahearn (Charlestown, MA), Trevor Pray (Tonowanda, NY), and Mark Sheehan (Stoughton, MA).

"It was a huge string of games for us. We really battled hard and starting preparing ourselves for the stretch run," said Coach Jon Lounsbury.  "I'm incredibly proud of the work they have been putting in and I'm excited to see what this team can put together moving into the playoffs."

The Express are back in action this weekend at Rodman Arena.
