The Mite Development League (MDL) is Rodman Arena's introductory hockey league for novice players. It is NOT a learn to play program (please see our Learn to Play program for that).
This program develops players ages 5-8. We teach fundamental hockey skills and game awareness. Games are half-ice games played on our Olympic sized ice surface with hard dividers. These are not cross-ice games; they are real games with refs, a scorekeeper and coaches on the bench not on the ice. The 4v4 format with goalies provides non-stop action, lots of touches and plenty of goal scoring. The MDL follows the guidelines established by USA Hockey's American Development Model (ADM).
The fall program puts players in two skills sessions and one game per week while our spring program features one skills session and one game per week.
