The game will take place at the Iorio Arena in Walpole, MA
on Sunday, November 1st at 1:00pm when the team hosts the
Hartford Junior Wolfpack in a regular season AJHL match-up.
All proceeds from the game will go to the Avon Foundation
for Breast Cancer in honor of Amy O’Connell Keith.
The name of the game is Amy’s initials. She is a sister,
wife, mother of three, and friend of hockey players. She is
a 38 year old resident of Westwood, MA who was diagnosed with
Stage II, Grade 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (breast cancer).
She currently has completed her chemotherapy treatments and
undergone a lumpectomy. Amy’s walk team for the Avon
Foundation Breast Cancer 2-day walk is the 2nd largest team
of walkers, with over 30 walkers.
The
goal is to raise breast cancer awareness and donate money
in support of the Avon Foundation and their commitment to
improve lives of women and their families.
On the ice, our players and refs be wearing special pink
jerseys. Off the ice, you will be given the chance to own
one of these unique game worn jerseys through a silent auction.
There will also be raffles that will allow you to win gift
certificates to most of your favorite local establishments.
Remember, all proceeds from the jersey auctions, raffles and
game admission ($5) will be donated to the Avon Foundation.

We are asking for your support in this crusade for advancing
access to care and finding a cure for breast cancer, with
a focus on the medically underserved. There are two ways
you can help be a part of the event:
1) We are hoping your organization can
give a prize to our campaign for our raffle drawings, which
all players, fans, family and friends will be purchasing
raffle tickets for.
Some examples of raffle prizes to date are: handmade lap
quilt, 4 passes to the New England Aquarium with a behind-the-scenes
tour, a one year membership to the New England Aquarium,
gift cards for 3-month memberships to a local gym, a handmade
bracelet and gift cards to local restaurants.
2) Monetary donation made to the Avon
Foundation. A significant donation will get your company
logo on our jerseys, which are to be auctioned off during
the game. Checks should be made out to the Avon
Foundation and mailed to PO Box 227, Walpole, MA
02071 or dropped off at the Iorio Arena office at 2130 Providence
Highway. (Please note: The deadline to be on the jersey
has passed, however donations are still very much appreciated.
In return, we will hand out any information at the game
that you provide us.)
One hundred percent of the proceeds are being donated to
the Avon Foundation. We look forward to hearing from your
businesses regarding this worthwhile event and your organization’s
possible participation in the collaborative effort.
Sincerely,
Walpole Express Junior Hockey
