2008 Premier Express Win Spring Classic Tournament

Walpole, MA  - Last weekend, March 17 -19, the Walpole Express Mite 2008 team, led by Coach Ladd, competed in the Spring Classic #1 Tournament in Hooksett, NH sponsored by New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs Youth Hockey.

After winning the first game on Friday afternoon by a score of 6-0, the boys were faced with a VERY early 6 am game the next morning against a competitive team from Northern VT, losing 4-2. With the panic button on, the boys rallied to win game three against a Central Maine team by a score of 7-1. The boys made it to the championship game on Sunday afternoon, beating the Northern VT team in a rematch with a score of 3-1.

The Walpole Express Mites impressed their audience by their team spirit, passing abilities, vision on the ice, shooting and collaboration. They also showed Coach their individual toughness.

Coach Ladd said he ran the championship game’s lines like he would for his Bantam team, and the boys rose to the occasion. "Kudos to the Walpole Express organization for a great year of training and experience. Also a special shout-out to Eddie McElhinney for his MVP performance, and an outstanding job by our goalie Gabe NcCue."

"We are very proud of these 2008 Walpole Express Mites, and see only a bright future ahead for them as they come back together in the fall for a fantastic Squirt season. Congrats on your championship win, boys!”
