EWHC: Express Jr Women Dominate Kunlun Red Star 9-1

Walpole, MA  - This past Friday the Express headed to the New England Sports Center where they faced the Kunlun Red Star for the second time this season.

Newcomer Alyssa Murphy got her first goal of the season at 11:23 of the first period to give the Express a 1-0 lead. Then at 2:41, newcomer Megan Gates got her first goal of the season to put the Express up 2-0. A minute later at 1:18 Kunlun Star snuck one past goaltender Naomi Leasck to make it a one goal game. The Express would respond back 30 seconds later with another goal from Alyssa Murphy. The Express would head to the locker room with a 3-1 lead at the end of the first.

The second period would see 4 goals scored by the Express. Newcomer Lizzie Jacobson got the scoring started in the second for her first of the season. Cassidy McNeeley continued her point streak by scoring her first goal of the season with an assist by Kiki Doucette. Doucette would later get her first of the season. Hayley Parrish got on the board for the first time this season giving the Express a 7-1 lead after the second. Parrish went on to complete a hattrick, finding the back of the net 2 more times to cap the Express victory at 9-1.

Goaltender Naomi Leasck faced 15 shots in her debut.

What a night for all the Express newcomers! They will now take to the ice Fri, Oct 20th vs Hockey Training Institute at Cyclones Arena.
