NEWJHL: Forward Marissa Massaro Commits to Franklin Pierce

Marissa MassaroWalpole, MA  - Marissa Massaro of Brockton, MA has committed to Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire where she will suit up for the Ravens for the 2017-2018 season. The NCAA Division II Ravens play in the NEHC.

Coach Danielle Doherty said coaching Marissa this season has been such a pleasure, “Marissa is an impact player. She makes things happen on the ice. She is a gritty player who has lots of skill and speed - a type a player a coach looks for."

Marissa is a leader of the team, indicated by the “A” she wears for the team. “She is such a great leader on and off the ice. Not only does she lead by example on the ice, she is a motivator. She encourages the team to work their hardest and to never let up. As a coach, it is really nice to hear that coming from one of your top players," said Coach Doherty.

With her strong work ethic she is always looking to be the best that she can be, pushing herself in every single drill at practice and every time she hits the ice during a game.

Marissa is excited to begin her collegiate career next season. “I am excited to continue my education and play hockey at Franklin Pierce. I would like to thank all of my coaches, family, and friends who have helped me along the way to receive this opportunity.”

Congrats Marissa! The entire Express staff wishes you nothing but the best. The Ravens are very lucky to have you! You will be missed," added Doherty.

Marissa will join teammate Emily Kramer and Express Alumni Meg Gilbride and Lauren White.
