Walpole, MA - After dropping two straight games the Express EHL squad got back on track with an 8-2 victory over a resilient Vermont Lumberjack squad. This past Saturday night the Express came out with a vengeance looking to keep the team at the top of the standings. Though scoreless through the first 15 minutes of play, the game was action packed – fast and physical on both sides.
Rookie Eric Lipa opened the scoring, notching his seventh goal of the season, off a beautiful play from Colin Biebel and Dylan Gamble. The Express never looked back as they scored highlight-reel goal after goal. Connor Rodericks was once again strong in net and remains undefeated on the season.
"We finally found a way to play a complete game and the goals we scored were set up off of great plays,” said Coach Jon Lounsbury. “It's nice to see the guys have breakout games. I continue to preach that we are a team that has to battle for its wins and we did just that."
Through the first two months of the season the EHL squad has a record of 9-2-2, good enough for first place in the Boston Division. Nick Balboa and Frankie Cefalu lead the way in scoring with 20 points apiece through 13 games. The Express kick off November on the road as they head to NJ for games against the NJ Titans and Philly Jr Flyers.
