Dalessio Selected
to Lead MJHL All Star-Team
Game scheduled for
Sunday, January 25th, 2009 |
| (Walpole, MA) -- Thanks to the Walpole
Express Jr. B team’s stellar 24-2 record thus far in the season,
Head Coach Tony Dalessio was selected to lead the North Division
All-Star team. This will be Dalessio’s fourth consecutive
year as an All-Star team coach. Coaches from the Northern Cyclones
and the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack will assist.
The
All Star game, which pits the top players in the North Division
against those from the South, will take place Sunday, Jan. 25 at
10 am at Iorio Arena in Walpole, Mass. The game will immediately
precede AJHL Jr. A All-Star game, which will face off at approximately
1 pm. This arrangement allows for maximum exposure for MJHL players.
“Our guys have worked diligently this season and have the
record to prove it,” Dalessio said. “Thanks to their
efforts and a lot of hard work I’ve been chosen to head up
the All-Star team in our division. I am honored by this opportunity.”
The team will comprise players from all nine North Division teams.
A nominating process will occur during the holiday break to identify
and select the most exceptional league players in each position.
The final 22-player roster (two goalies, 12 forwards and eight defensemen)
will be announced in early January. In addition, one additional
goalie, defenseman and two forwards will be chosen as alternates
but will only dress if necessary.
“We have several guys worthy of All-Star slots,” said
Express Owner Rob Barletta. “Choosing the league’s top
guys – including at least one player from every team –
will make for a fair and very exciting game.”
The MJHL Northern All-Star team will include players from the Walpole
Express, Hartford Jr. Wolf Pack, Portland Jr. Pirates, Binghamton
Jr. Senators, Troy Eagles, Northern Cyclones, New Jersey Avalanche,
Long Island Royals and New York Saints.
The Southern Division team will include players from Suffolk PAL,
New Jersey Titans, New Jersey Rockets, New Jersey Renegades, Central
Penn Panthers, Washington Jr. Capitals, Valley Forge Minutemen,
Philadelphia Jr. Flyers and Philadelphia Little Flyers. |
