(Walpole, MA) -- Taunton, MA. native Ryan Jones signed with the Walpole Express A team for the upcoming 2008-2009 season.

Jones played four years of varsity hockey for Coyle and Cassidy High School, recording 156 points. Known for his flashy play-making abilities, Jones is always aware of where everyone is on the ice at all times. Express Head Coach Mark Kumpel said he is eager to help Jones make the transition to Junior A hockey.

“There is a big adjustment from high school to Junior A as the level and pace of play accelerates,” he said. “I fully expect Ryan to make the jump to the next level.”

General Manager Rob Barletta added that he couldn’t be happier to have Jones aboard the Express train. “Just like former Express players Matt Wedge, Steve Lucchetti and Jeremy Beleuie, Ryan played youth hockey for the Northeast Elite Hockey league so we are well aware of his potential,” Barletta said.

The Express are proud members of the Atlantic Junior Hockey League Junior A and the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League Junior B. Both leagues are based on the common goal of player development and successful college placement.
