(Walpole, MA) -- The Walpole Express have signed Cody Armstrong for the 2008-2009 season. Armstrong played on the Express’ A last season and was ranked among its top penalty killers and hardest working players.

“This coming season will be Cody’s third with the Walpole Express organization, having played for the B team in his first year,” said Express General Manager Rob Barletta. “As a veteran, we will look to Cody for leadership and expect that he will step up his game, as he has done each year for the Express. His strong work ethic and development as a player have been exemplary.”

With the open tryouts completed, the Walpole Express have signed top returning player Lou Malvasi for the 2008-2009 season. Malvasi, a resident of Lincroft, N.J., played on the Express’ B team last season and was named the team’s Most Valuable Player of the Year.

“I could really see the speed that the staff had talked about during the tryouts,” said new Express Head Coach Mark Kumpel. “Lou’s speed allows him to be a part of many different aspects of the game, so I expect he’ll make a strong contribution in the upcoming season.”

Malvasi said he looks forward to being a member 2008-2009 Walpole Express A team and aims to improve his game, as he has done the past three years.
