(Walpole, MA) -- Walpole Express forward Ricky Baldasti has committed to Becker College for the 2008-2009 season. He is the seventh Express player this season to commit to college hockey. In just its second season in the ECAC Northeast, Becker College in Worcester, Mass. already is a contender. Though Baldasti, who came to the Express from Green Mountain, did not put up great numbers this year he really found his groove in the Express line-up, according to his coach Kevin Brooks. “Although Ricky wasn’t a big point guy for us, he gets the job done,” Brooks said. “Every time he is on the ice he makes things happen. He is great around the net and he is going to be a very good player at Becker.”

Baldasti will not be the last Express player to commit this season, according to General Manager Rob Barletta. “We still have a number of guys that have not committed yet. We have done a good job placing kids over these past two seasons, and we expect that trend to continue.”

Added Express Head Coach Chris Cerrella, “Division III hockey is getting better by the day. There are so many talented players out there now and not enough spots. Good players are falling through the cracks. At the Walpole Express, we’re doing everything we can to make sure our guys get the opportunities they deserve.”
