Walpole Express Assistant Captain Cody Armstrong has committed
to Tufts University for the fall of 2010. Tufts is a member
of New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC)
NCAA Division III. Armstrong received word of his acceptance
last week after going through early admissions process at
the urging of the Tufts coaching staff.
This
season, Cody is off to a strong start averaging a point per
game with 12 goals and 13 assists in 25 games. “Tony
(Dalessio) and I are extremely excited for Cody," said
Coach Mark Kumpel. "He has worked tremendously hard for
us the past year-and-a-half and is very deserving of the opportunity
to study at one of the finest Universities in the country
while also continuing his hockey career in the very strong
NESCAC league.”
“I would like to thank both Coach Kumpel and Coach
Dalessio for helping me advance my game and reach my goal
of playing college hockey at a great school," Armstrong
said. "I’m excited this process is behind me and
I am looking forward to a strong second half and post season.”
