Hannafin Keeps the
Express on the Right Track
New Residence and
Education Manager |
| (Walpole, MA) -- Arlington, Mass.-native
Brian Hannafin has joined the Walpole Express as the organization’s
residence and education manager. In this role Hannafin will live
in the team’s state-of-the-art dormitory, located just feet
from the Iorio Arena’s twin ice surfaces, managing the facility
and helping every player with college preparation and placement.
“Brian will guide the players and ensure each student-athlete
is doing what he needs to do in order to boost his chances of successful
placement,” explained Express General Manager Tony Dalessio.
“Brian understands what it takes to excel both on the ice
and off thanks to his own success as a player.”
In addition to his duties at the dorm, Hannafin also will assist
the coaches on ice, as well as scout future Express players.
The 29-year-old Hannafin, a 2001 graduate of Salve Regina University,
excelled as a forward and was often recognized for his speed, quickness,
goal-scoring ability, dedication to the game, and strong leadership
skills.
Among his awards and accomplishments as a player are: 2004-2006
Jackson Hole Moose leading scorer and assistant captain; 2000-2001
ECAC Div. 3 1st Team All-Star and New England College Hockey writers
All-Star Team; and 1999-2000 Salve Regina leading scorer.
He also has significant coaching experience, including: 2007-2008
Jackson Hole squirts (Wyoming champions); 2005-2007 Jackson Hole
High School, winners of two state titles; 2003-2005 Bay State Games
assistant coach; and 2001-2002 Salve Regina University, assistant
coach. |
