New Junior B Head Coach |
| (Walpole, MA) -- Today, Michael
H. Tenney was named had coach of the Walpole Express Jr. B
team. Tenney joins the organization from the Central Pennsylvania
Panthers, a Tier 1 Jr. B team in the Atlantic Youth Hockey
League (AYHL), where he served as assistant general manager
and assistant coach since 2008. His team won the prestigious
Keegan Cup and was a national runner-up during the 2008-2009
season.
“We are pleased to have a young, bright talent like
Mike join the Express organization as we work to enhance an
already strong program,” said Express Jr. A Coach Mark
Kumpel. “We expect Mike to bring a fresh perspective
and the insight gained from working in another top program.”
About Mike
He comes to the organization with more than five years coaching
experience at a variety of levels, including tier 1 and tier
II, as well as at the high school level. Until his move to
the Express, Tenney was head coach at Conestoga (Pa.) Valley
High School. He is currently a level 4 USA Hockey certified
coach.
During his 12 years as a player, Tenney skated for the Princeton
(N.J.) Tigers youth organization, and was starting goalie
at the Hun School of Princeton, where he attended high school.
As a senior, he won the Dan Little Award for leadership, sportsmanship
and dedication. He attended Millersville (Pa.) University,
where he received a bachelor’s degree in communications/broadcasting
n 2008.
