(Walpole, MA) -- With training camp less than seven weeks away, the Walpole Express is focused on the prestigious John Cunniff Sr. Chowder Cup set to take place at Iorio Arena, July 23-26, 2009. The majority of the Express’ players, both veterans and newly signed athletes, will participate in the annual event allowing team coaches the opportunity to see the players in action.

“We are putting the finishing touches on both the A and B rosters for the fall,” said Coach Mark Kumpel. “We’re looking forward to getting the players on the ice and watching them in these summer games, which give us insight into strategies for the upcoming season.”

For the Chowder Cup, the Express will field two teams comprised of A and B players and two additional teams made up of future prospects -- players the staff has identified as potential Express players in coming years.
