| (Walpole, MA) -- Tryouts
for the Walpole Express’ 2009-2010 season, held April 17-19
at Iorio Arena, drew an impressive collection of hopefuls. Six full
teams and more than 20 goaltenders took part in the event, which
for position players included three scrimmages and a skating/skills
session. Goaltenders participated in their own tryout.
Express GM/Coach Tony Dalessio and Coach Mark Kumpel said they
were pleased with the turnout. “There were a number of quality
players for both our A and B teams, including a few pleasant surprises,”
Kumpel said. “From what I saw over the weekend, I am confident
that next season is going to be a strong one for both Express teams.”
Kumpel and Dalessio appreciated the effort and enthusiasm set forth
by the players. “We would like to thank all of the players,”
Dalessio said. “It was clear they each gave a strong effort
throughout the weekend."
With tryouts over, the focus now is on the pre-draft showcase,
set for May 8-10 at Iorio Arena in Walpole, Mass. For more information
