(Walpole, MA) -- The Walpole Express Junior Elite Hockey Team, a member of the Atlantic Junior Hockey League (Junior A) and the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League (Junior B), has re-signed three returning players for the 2008-2009 season. “Each year we’ve built upon the success of the previous season,” said Express General Manager Rob Barletta. “We’re looking to make the upcoming season our finest to date and are carefully selecting those players we feel can make an exceptional contribution to the team. The three players who are returning from last season have each shown they have the skills, desire and commitment to anchor the squad we’re assembling now. Look for big things from the Express in 2008-2009.”

Adam Korol
A strong defenseman, Adam Korol helped anchor the Express’ blueline last season. “His consistency was legendary,” Barletta said. “We called him Mr. Steady. He didn’t miss a single game and was ‘in the game’ every time he stepped on the ice.” Korol joined the Express following a stint with the Brewster Bulldogs in the Empire Junior Hockey League Jr. B.

Ryan Kelly
Ryan Kelly epitomizes the “meat and potatoes” hockey player, according to Barletta. “His playing style is nothing fancy, but he gets the job done every night. He’s a born leader and a true competitor.” Those characteristics were evident, even to opposing teams, as he killed penalty after penalty. According to Barletta, Kelly plays with his heart on his sleeve and generates more than 100 percent effort, if that’s possible. To recognize his contributions to the team, Kelly won the “Hard Hat Award” bestowed by the Express at season’s end. Kelly joined the team from Cranks Catering Midget AAA.

Eric Vos
Though he only played 16 games for the Express, his season cut short by a torn ACL, Vos still managed to amass 12 points. “He’s not a flashy player,” according to Barletta, “but his great vision and skill around the net help him succeed. Somehow, he always seems to end up on the score sheet at the end of the night.”
