B's Send Four Plus Coach to All-Star Game

Walpole Express Jr. B Head Coach Mike Tenney, whose team sits
in first place in the MJHL, was selected as head coach of
the All-Star Francis Division team. Joining him are four of
his top players, each selected for specific skills displayed
throughout the season.
B's new captain, Carmen Mastrangelo of Wellington, Florida,
was among those selected. To date this season he has racked
up 25 goals and 15 assists for 40 points. Forward Dan Bufis
of Linden, New Jersey made the team as an energy player who
brings a lot of speed to the forward position. To date, he
has 14 goals and 17 assists for 31 points.
Defenseman Thomas Nitsche of Charlotte, North Carolina was
selected for his strong play in the D-zone, as well as his
offensive contributions. He has three goals and 14 assists
to date. Rounding out the All-Star B's is netminder Brendan
Hammatt of Portsmouth, Rhode Island. In 969 minutes of playing
time he has established a Goals Against Average of 2.48 and
a save percentage of .911. He is currently ranked fifth in
the league in overall goaltending.
The All-Star Games will be held at Iorio Arena in Walpole,
Mass.on Jan. 31, 2010. The following teams comprise the Francis
Division: Walpole Express, Suffolk Hockey, Long Island Royals,
New Jersey Rockets, Northern Cyclones, Hartford Jr. Wolfpack
and New York Saints. |
