Formed in 2005, the Walpole Express' goal is to provide an opportunity for girls from Walpole and surrounding towns to learn and excel at the game of hockey in a positive, fun and competitive environment which stresses team work and sportsmanship. The Express are about teaching girls why we play the game! It comes from within. It’s not about getting the most goals or being the all star. It’s a deep passion to learn that comes from the heart. It’s about working as a team to reach a common goal and having respect that allows us to bring out the best in each other. We promote player development for ALL players. Each coach plays all players equal and gives them ALL confidence and knowledge in each game. There is no power play or penalty killing units. In order to develop, players must be put in every situation of a game.
We offer various all-girls teams including the U16/19 level, U14 level, U12 level, U10 level, and U8 level. The season runs roughly from early September through mid March. For our U10, U12 and U14 teams, there are two practices per week (Wednesday & Friday nights), one weekly skills session (Tuesday nights) with RB Hockey School, and one game per weekend. Games are home/away in the Middlesex Yankee Conference Girls League on Saturday or Sunday each week. We have a 25 game season and will end the season with a playdown playoff format. All practices, skills and home games take place at the Rodman Arena in Walpole, MA. Our teams will also compete in various competitive tournaments throughout the year.
Our U16/19 teams are half-season teams, who end their season at Thanksgiving so the players can play on their high school hockey teams. The U16/U19 teams have one practice per week, on Saturdays and one game over the weekend.
Our U8 team follows USA Hockey's American Development Model (ADM) guidelines. The team participates in two station based skills session every week on Tuesday and Thursday, and plays in the Rodman Arena Mite Development League (MDL) a half-ice hockey league for U8 players.
All teams U8 through U14 also participate in one dryland training session per week.
Our U10 through U19 teams will be playing out of the exceptionally well organized Middlesex Yankee Conference. The league offers four divisions including U10, U12, U14, and a half season for U19. The league consists of approximately 100 teams, broken down into four divisions (based on age and ability). The league has parity rounds and make games as competitive as possible.
Our U10 Major and U12 Major teams are Tier 2 state-bound teams and will compete in Mass Hockey's Tier 2 State Tournament in March. Our U14 Major team is a Tier 2 national-bound team competing in Mass Hockey's Tier 2 State Tournament for a chance to participate in the National Tournament in April.

What is the mission of the Walpole Express Girls Hockey Program?
Our mission is to grow happy, healthy, confident girls through the sport of ice hockey. Goal number one is to have fun. If the kids and their families are not having fun, then what is the point?
We also want our girls to develop both their hockey skills and their general athletic ability. We do this by creating age-appropriate skills, practices and dryland training sessions. Finally, we want the

We believe that every child has the potential to make their dreams come true.
